CLIENTS BRYAN BULLINGTON

The first overall pick in the 2002 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, right-handed pitcher Bryan Bullington’s pitching prowess was on display in Japan during the 2011 season. The 6’4” Indianapolis native quickly caught the attention of fans, pitching eight shutout innings in his debut with the Central League’s Hiroshima Toyo Carp. In addition to being named an All-Star, Bullington’s other impressive season accomplishments included leading all starters on his team with a 2.42 ERA, 13 wins in 30 starts, and three complete games. He also became the first Hiroshima pitcher since 1998 to pitch over 200 innings, finishing with 204.1. Bullington is no stranger to standout performances, having already distinguished himself in the United States. Indiana’s Mr. Baseball attended Ball State University, where he became the school’s all-time leader with 29 wins and 367 strikeouts. Following an outstanding junior year, during which he went 11-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 139 strikeouts, a new record for most in a single season, Bullington was named the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year. The first player from the Mid-American Conference to be selected with the first pick in a major sport’s draft, he pitched for the Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals, before taking the opportunity overseas.
