Now of the Utah Jazz, Al Jefferson is one of the most talented and dominating inside presences in the NBA. A true 20-10 talent, "Big Al" is a sensational rebounder -- he set a franchise record with 26 in the 2009-10 season -- and continues to improve his post game. In the 2008-09 season, Al was averaging a career-best 23.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game in the first 50 games before suffering a year-ending injury. He also has a career field goal percentage over 50%. A high school All-America, Al was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round (15th overall pick) of the 2004 NBA Draft. Closely tied to his roots, Al is actively involved in community related efforts in and around his hometown of Prentiss, Mississippi.
