The jersey Derek Jeter wore on the day he recorded his 3,000th hit will be on display at the New York Yankees Museum beginning Tuesday through the remainder of the 2011 calendar year, the Yankees announced Monday.

The New York Yankees Museum, presented by Bank of America, is located on the main level of Yankee Stadium near Gate 6. Guests have access to the museum on game days -- from the time gates open until the end of the eighth inning -- and on non-game days as part of the Yankee Stadium tours.

On July 9, Jeter became the 28th player to reach the 3,000-hit plateau with a third-inning solo homer off Rays ace David Price, joining Wade Boggs as the only player to reach the milestone with a home run.

Jeter finished that game 5-for-5 with a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth, joining Craig Biggio as the only player to record five hits on the same day he reached 3,000.

In addition to Jeter's jersey, the New York Yankees Museum has recently added the "Latino Living Legends" exhibit, which was constructed in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame and pays homage to the six living Hall of Famers of Latino descent -- Roberto Alomar, Luis Aparicio, Rod Carew, Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal and Tony Perez.
