Excel Sports Management, a full-service sports agency representing some of the most elite players in professional basketball and baseball, is adding world-class professional golf to its portfolio with the addition of agent Mark Steinberg as partner.

With a 20-year history of exceptional sports management, Steinberg brings a wealth of international and domestic experience in golf, basketball, motor sports, corporate consulting and event management. Long-time client Tiger Woods will also be joining Steinberg at Excel. Based in New York City, Excel also has offices in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Excel, Steinberg was instrumental in building the global golf division at IMG. Since beginning his career in 1992, he has negotiated some of the richest deals in sports history on behalf his clients with dozens of blue-chip companies, while leading a robust international sports division.

"After meeting with a number of agencies and businesses, I decided Excel was the perfect fit. I'm excited to serve as a partner in an agency positioned for growth and look forward to working with Jeff [Schwartz[ and Casey [Close] to build this business," said Steinberg. "It's clear Excel is truly setting the bar for focused sports management while maintaining the access and service of bigger agencies. It is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of this team as it continues to set itself apart from the competition."

Steinberg joins Excel just months after renowned baseball agent Casey Close, agent to Derek Jeter, partnered with Excel President Jeff Schwartz to grow the business into a multi-sport management agency. Led by powerhouse agents in basketball, baseball and golf, Excel is uniquely positioned to continue providing the absolute best for its clients.

"Mark and I grew up in the business together, and I have witnessed his growth as a leader in the golf industry with a lot of admiration and respect," said Schwartz. "It is unbelievable to be in a position to partner with both he and Casey to continue to grow Excel in a way that the three of us feel passionate about."

"The three of us have worked in parallel paths in our respective sports and I am excited for us to come together to build something very special," said Close.
