Bio

Andrew Thacker completed his fifth season as Defensive Coordinator at Georgia Tech in 2023. In his first four seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Thacker’s defenses have produced 12 All-ACC selections, including five in 2022. Additionally, five of his players have gone on to sign National Football League contracts.

Thacker came to Georgia Tech from Temple, where he spent two seasons working with the linebackers, as well as adding additional responsibility as Defensive Coordinator in 2018. In his lone season as Temple’s Defensive Coordinator, the Owls scored 8 defensive touchdowns (No. 1 nationally), forced 31 turnovers (No. 3 nationally), recovered 13 fumbles (No. 3 nationally) and intercepted 18 passes (No. 4 nationally).
