Bio

Josh Oglesby just finished his fourth season with the Spartans after he was named the San José State University offensive line coach in March 2020. In 2023, Oglesby took full control of coordinating the run game, improving the unit from 3.35 to 5.53 yards per carry while only allowing 19 sacks. The Spartans won the final six games of the regular season to finish tied for 2nd in the Mountain West Conference. Over that stretch, the Spartans out rushed their opponents 1,488 to 827 yards. Running back Kairee Robinson set the San Jose State record for most touchdowns in a single season. In 2022, the Spartans offensive line helped Quarterback Chevan Cordeiro lead the Mountain West with 3,251 yards passing and 23 throwing touchdowns. He also led the Mountain West with 31 total touchdowns. The 23 passing touchdowns were the most under Brennan in a season and the nine quarterback rushing touchdowns are a SJSU modern day record. Wide receiver Elijah Cooks ended the campaign with 10 touchdowns which is the most under Brennan and had 1,076 yards on the season. Running back Kairee Robinson ran for a career-high in yards (752) and touchdowns (10). Robinson ran for a career-best 148 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown against Hawai’i (11/26/22).

In his first season with the Spartans, his offensive linemen formed one of top pass protecting units nationally. Even with four different starting offensive lines in an eight-game season, San Jose State tied for eighth nationally yielding only 1.00 quarterback sacks per game. The Spartans also had their best rushing offense in five years averaging 4.5 yards a carry and 132.5 yards per game. Left tackle Jack Snyder became the first San Jose State offensive lineman in eight years to earn first-team all-conference honors. Snyder signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.

At the University of Wisconsin, Oglesby was a 2011 first-team All-Big Ten honoree and an offensive lineman on the 2010 and 2011 Badgers teams that represented the Big Ten Conference in the Rose Bowl. Oglesby pursued a professional football career with Washington of the National Football League in 2012 before entering coaching.

He participated in the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship program in 2016 with the Oakland Raiders and in 2019 with the Indianapolis Colts.

Josh Oglesby was named the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator at the University of Arizona in January of 2023, following 4 seasons at San Jose State University in a similar role.
