Bio

Mike Vasil began his baseball career in Boston, Massachusetts playing for Boston College High School. He quickly became one of the best players in the nation winning 2017 Massachusetts Player of the Year, First Team All-State pick by USA Today and was ranked the No.2 freshman in the ACC by Perfect Game prior to his first season in 2019. Although projected a top pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, Vasil decided to attend the University of Virginia where he would play for the next three years. At the University of Virginia, Vasil would go on to help UVA reach the College World Series in 2021 and against a strong Texas team allowed one earned run over seven total innings.

After a strong showing at the University of Virginia, Vasil was taken in the 8th round of the 2021 MLB draft by the New York Mets. Since being drafted in 2021 Vasil has had stints with the Brooklyn Cyclones, Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Syracuse Mets. After three years in the minors, Vasil was called up to Spring training in early 2024 and is expected to make his major league debut sometime in 2025.
